For being in the midst of the coldest time in the central Valley, I just love the warmth surrounding Christmas time. I especially love the lights, it reminds me of John 1:5:

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

It does not get old celebrating the birth of our savior every year, and this year I am extremely grateful to be working in a place that shares joy in that celebration.

This is my daughter, Gracie, and I’s favorite time of year. The things we love most about this time of year are the Christmas lights and the cold weather! We pray that you and your family have a blessed Christmas and that we may always stand in awe and reverence never getting over the fact that God came to us. He is our hope, He is the reason we celebrate!

Merry Christmas to everyone! This time of year, I always get excited to celebrate with my extended family on both my mom and my dad's side. We pack the house with multiple families and children. It is amazing to see God's faithfulness to both sides through all the generations present. I also love the lights and the Christmas songs we sing in church.

This is often a busy and stressful time of year for many, but I am blessed to have such great family and friends to celebrate all our Lord has done for us this past year. I am reminded of what a great gift Jesus was all those years ago but also humbled by the fact that it was my sin that necessitated his coming. Thank you Lord, for providing for us on that first Christmas, for providing now, and for providing for our future with you. Glory indeed!

Our family has spread out over the years and God has added sweet spouses into the mix and this November we welcomed our first grandchild. Yay! My husband, Rod, and I are truly grateful for each one of our kiddos – Joshua & his wife, Corrin; Jacob and his wife, Nikki, who at the time of this picture was still pregnant with our first grandson, Jackson; Matthew and our oldest, Ashley.

I am someone who dislikes the cold and I hate when it gets dark early. But despite the freezing temps and lack of sun Christmas is my favorite time of year. It’s the symbol of hope that this world so desperately needs. The birth of our Savior! who else gets teary eyed at that statement. But the knowledge that we as Christians know, it’s not about the gifts or the ugly sweaters. It’s the celebration of God's love. That He would send His son as a baby, wrapped, and clothed in a manager to grow up and experience the needs of people. Then to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Christmas to me means hope, a light in this dark world. May we be aware this Christmas how selflessly and abundantly we are loved. 

Allow me to introduce the reason I thank God for daily. Meet my high school sweetheart/husband Michael, and our two carbon copies, Juliet (18) and Tristan(12).

Merry Christmas! This is our family's favorite time of year for many reasons. Most importantly we get to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior while looking back at all the amazing things He has done in our lives over the year. And this time of year also means playing in snow in Michigan, making Christmas cookies, playing Christmas music, and celebrating family traditions.

What a joyous time of year it is to worship our Lord and all He has done for us!

But while we praise the Lord, we may also be mourning. This can be such a challenging season for those grieving, and even though it’s been nearly three years since my father’s death, I feel it more acutely these winter months.

I’m praying peace for those of you who may be struggling and that you would feel the gracious, loving pull of the Lord as He calls you nearer.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I love this time of year!! Everything from the cozy pjs, all the yummy goodies and the intentional time for reflection on what Christmas is all about.  This past June my husband, Kyle, and I went on a pilgrimage throughout the Holy Land and we were continually in awe as we walked in the footsteps of our Lord. It was an unexpected blessing after a challenging year and I felt the Lord reminding me that He is a God of surprises and adventures. He can take us on journeys that we least expect and can breathe new joy into our hearts when we need it the most. May our humble Savior be glorified and may you and your family be blessed always.

For Christmas, our family traditions are baking cookies, decorating gingerbread houses, and ice skating. It’s our favorite time of year as we celebrate the birth of Christ and we are reminded of His love for us!

Merry Christmas! We love this time of year, spending time with our girls and their families. My husband Bruce loves, loves, loves Christmas music and is either singing Christmas songs or listening to our favorite CDs at all times. (I love Hallmark movies, so we do take turns once in a while :)

Three of our daughters live in town, so we get to hang out with them and the 4 grandkids as much as possible. One daughter lives in Hong Kong as a YWAM missionary, so we hope to see her in the coming year. We are so blessed!

Merry Christmas! This is my family’s favorite time of year. We are especially excited this year as we await the arrival of our 4th child due January 2nd! We like to be surprised, so we don’t know if this little one will be our 4th boy or our 1st girl. Either way, life is about to get a whole lot sweeter and a whole lot crazier in our household! We hope you are able to soak up all the joy that this season has to offer with your family, and that it would be a wonderful time of celebrating our Savior.
