There are myriad opportunities for volunteering with Modesto Pregnancy Center. God has provided each one of us with different skills and gifts so uniquely—must be like He knows that all of them are important to help organizations and communities thrive!

Below are some potential volunteer options:

  • Our Peer Advocates walk alongside our clients to provide emotional support as they process what could be a very trying, difficult time of their life. Peer Advocates also seek to establish relationships with their patients; our goal is to love them well, and that means continued care beyond the initial pregnancy test.

  • We have two roles for nurses in this clinic: a pregnancy test nurse and a sonographer.

For pregnancy test appointments, RNs administer pregnancy tests and provide patients with their results in a medical consultation. The medical consultation may include informing clients of abortion procedures, sharing miscarriage precautions, and scheduling the patient to return for an ultrasound if the pregnancy test is positive.

For those interested in sonography, training would be provided to allow a registered nurse to have the privilege of showing a pregnant woman the life inside her, likely for the first time.

This position also requires a longer shift commitment. All sonographers are required to commit to a minimum of one 5-hour shift per week.

  • The Community Education team has been in our area schools for more than 20 years talking to our youth about healthy relationships, fetal development, and identity. One of the team’s goals has been to increase connections with local churches, which has included speaking to area youth groups as well!

  • At MPC we want our patients to feel loved and welcomed as soon as they enter the building. Volunteering at the front desk makes you one of the faces of the ministry! Basic computer skills are required, as the front desk person checks patients in for their appointments. Volunteers will also work closely with the medical team to make sure they have the appropriate paperwork and information needed for the client. This position may include other administrative tasks that we need help with in the office.

  • Each ultrasound performed must have an ultrasound witness, and that’s where our volunteers come in! It’s a privilege to be in that room when our patients are “meeting” their babies for the first time. All we need from you is to be present, to be prayerful, and to respect the patient regardless of where they are in their pregnancy journey.

  • Our Incentive Program classes are back in person! With that, we are in need of teachers for all of our classes. We have the material prepared for you, but we ask that you come with a desire to create connection, to provide support, and to encourage our families.

  • With the reintroduction of in-person classes, our Bumps & Bows Boutique has been busier than ever. Volunteering in this role may include helping during class shopping appointments, laundering and organizing the incoming donations, packaging diaper bundles, etc.
